Cockspur Island Lighthouse was built to mark the entrance to the Savannah River, it is also known as the South Carolina Light. Even though the lighthouse has withstood erosion the National Park Services has restored it. Today it is open to the public and visitors can reach this lighthouse by wading, swimming or by boat.
