Brown Pelican Print #CG-BP
8" x 10" This is a limited edition four-color process print on acid free paper of an original painting by artist Anne Smith. The Brown Pelican was in danger of being extinct a few years ago due to the effects of pesticides. The pelican is a very large , stocky bird with a gray-brown body, long bill, and a pouch under the bill. Adults have a light yellow crown. In summer, the back of the neck is chestnut brown; in winter, it changes to white. Flocks fly in straight lines, often gliding just above the water. The pelican dives from great heights, plunges head first into the water and scoops up fish into the expandable pouch beneath its bill. When the water drains out, the pelican throws its head back and swallows.

Cape Henlopen Light Print #CG-CHL
8" x 10" Limited edition four --color process printed on acid free paper of an original painting by artist Anne Smith. Constuction began in 1765 on Cape Henlopen Lightouse on the south side of the entrance to the Delaware Bay. The lighthouse was finished and lit in 1767. Cape Henlopen lighthouse was in constant danger
of erosion. For over 160 years the lighthouse battled with the forces of nature. When the lighthouse was built, it was about a mile from the shore line, 150 years later the shore line was within 150 feet from the lighthouse. In 1924 it became apparent that Cape Henlopen Lighthouse was doomed, so the bureau of lighthouses discontinued the light. On April 13, 1926, a severe storm undermined Cape Henlopen Lighthouse and toppled it.
