It was built atop a part of Fort Hamilton which dates back to 1798. It is one of the best known lights in Rhode Island, which can be seen from the bridge or the water.

Height: 45 feet

Beacon Sequence: White light varied by 2 red flashes in a 15 second cycle.
This lighthouse was manned by the Coast Guard until August 31,1986. The Watch Hill Improvement Society now maintains the station for public enjoyment.
